The pair met while working for a previous publisher and became fast friends, their split dynamics and views on life, family and love in general led to the idea of Stolen Moments: A County Fair Romance. They do hope to bring you more of Justin Blackthorne and Fallon Hopkins in the months to come, so keep your eyes open and a fresh pair of panties close by, you know just in case.

So, the name’s Avery Harper but my nearest and dearest usually call me Av. I’ve been told I come off as a bitch but in reality, I just won’t take no BS…
I play hard but I love harder. I like to party with the best! Honestly is there any other way to party?
During my senior of high school something went horribly wrong making me the woman I am today.
Who you ask is that woman? Well let me just tell you. I sleep with who I want, when I want, where I want. If that makes me a whore than stop bragging boys because you ain’t any better. They use, and abuse, and I take all I can get from the idiots willing to pay. Rich college boys… Gotta love um, big stupid and willing to pay top dollar to be seen with the likes of me and I’m worth every penny.
But I’ll tell you a secret, I’d give it all up for a guy strong enough to see past the bullshit and talented enough to make me come. Haven’t met one like that yet, so until then me and my girls will keep running and playing and working hard. Because that’s what we do.
*Erotic Elements

I pull up to Avery’s brownstone and that’s when I realize it’s been quiet for a while. I park across the street and check the back seat. She’s snoring and has spilled her drink all over my carpets. Fuck. There’s no way I’m driving home at two a.m. and risking a checkpoint with that smell in my SUV. I get out of the truck and open her door, looks like I’m carrying her. She doesn’t make so much as a peep when I pick her up and carry her across the street and up the stairs to her apartment. Just as I’m about to unlock her door, she jerks forward and pukes right on herself and me, but mostly on me. Seriously! Ugh, c’mon.
I get her into the house and sit her on the stool while I strip off my vest and toss it in the sink. I so don’t want to pick her up again, not with puke on her, so I go on a zipper search. Finding it on the side, under her arm, I get her out of the dress and lift her. Now, to put her to bed.
This isn’t the first time I’ve had to put Avery Harper to bed and it probably won’t be the last. As I’m laying her down, she stirs slightly and tries to kiss me. I limbo out of that and she passes back out. Thank God!
I put a bucket next to the bed in case she needs to puke again and head for her kitchen. Her fridge is bare. Damn, the snacks! I forgot to grab the bag of chips, corn nuts, Fire Fries, chocolate, and Pepsi that I grabbed when I stopped. I run downstairs and back to the SUV to get her stuff.
Once I’m back in her apartment, I put it all out on the table and use the bag for my puke covered vest. Then, I loosen my tie and get to work looking for some cleaning products to get the smell of booze out of my truck.
“What are you doing here?”
Startled by the sudden voice booming in my ears, I bang my head. “Ouch, fuck.” I pull myself out of her under the sink cabinet and turn to look at Avery. She’s standing in just her cream-colored bra and panty set, with black stockings and her heels… Wow, does she ever look pissed. “You spilled booze in my SUV and puked on me, I was looking for something to kill the smell.”
She stomps away as I stand up and brush myself off. She really needs to mop these floors. A few seconds later, she reappears with a bucket and cleaning supplies. “Is this what you need?”
I look her over and then look at the bucket. “I- um, yeah, that should do.”
“You okay?”
“I’m good.” I reach for the bucket, taking it out of her manicured hands. “Thanks, I’ll bring this right back.”
She looks at herself. “Why am I undressed?”
I purse my lips, looking at the floor, then at the sink where her dress is soaking in some dish detergent.
“Well, when you puked on me, you got you too, I didn’t think you would want to go to bed like that. I know I wouldn’t. Your dress is soaking in the sink, so it shouldn’t stain.”
“Why didn’t you just say so, there’s only like ten more in my closet of the same thing,” Avery quips, putting a hand on her ample hip.
God, she’s sexy and it’s taking a lot of control not to let her know just how hot I think she is. Usually, she sleeps during cleanup. Tonight is the first time she’s talked to me in ages.
“Um, I was just trying to help. Anyway…” I run my hand through my hair and down my neck. “I’m gonna go clean up my car, I’ll be back in a jiffy.”
“The door will be unlocked.”
Christ, that girl. She’s a tease, I have to remind myself of that. She’s also very drunk. I go out to the SUV and give it a scrubbing, realizing that the whole thing just needs a good detailing. I’m covered in muck and grime as I head back to Avery’s apartment. When I get there, she’s in the kitchen. She’s wearing a little white tank with no bra, something I’m made acutely aware of by the lighting and the nipple stand she’s currently sporting. She’s poured the corn nuts into a bowl and is working on them as she leans against the counter in white, lacey boy shorts. Her wet hair is tied up in a bun and dripping down her back, showing off the telltale signs of ink, but I can’t make out the details. Fuck me, is all I can think as I internally groan. Externally, I’m cool as a cucumber, putting the bucket on the counter.
“Thanks, do you need anything before I go home?” A massage, a long, wet kiss, a hard cock between your tits? My mind is in the gutter and it’s her that’s put it there. I swear I can smell her from here.
“Do you need to use the shower?”
“Um- I don’t-” The smell of vomit on me hits me and my eyes tear up. “Would you mind terribly? Do you have a washer for my shirts, perhaps?”
“Yeah. Just strip your clothes and I’ll throw um in the washer.”
“Uh, yeah, thanks.” I head for the shower and strip down, putting my shirts on the sink and my pants over the rail.
The water feels good, though I have to adjust the shower head. She’s not a tall woman, in fact, she’s only about mid-chest on me and I’m five-eleven. I hear her come in for my shirts as I grab the soap. It smells like honey and oatmeal. At least I know my skin will be soft. The thought gives me a chuckle as I rinse down. I grab a towel and reach for my pants to find that all my clothes are missing!

Review 4 Stars

This is my first story by Willink and it was splendid from the very beginning to the end. The dynamic between Krystina and Alexander; their connection and sexual chemistry will keep the reader from putting the book down. Heart of Stone is dual POV so you get to see from Alexander and Krystina’s eyes.   I will say I’d had to give this read a 4 star because it was very similar to Fifty Shades of Grey. I will have to grab the next book Stepping Stone just to see what happens next.

  1. Do you slip secrets about you or your past into your books? I do on occasion. For example, the guitarist that Alexander stumbled upon in Venice, Italy is taken from a real life experience. My husband and I visited Venice in 2007. We went out for a late night walk and happened to come across this guitarist playing in the street. We listened to him for hours.

  2. What would you wish for if you found a genie? It might be a lofty wish, but I’d wish to make it onto the NYT or USA Today Bestseller List.

  3. When you are bored, what would you most likely find yourself doing? I’m rarely bored, but on the rare occasion, you might see me sneaking in a video game or two. I’m sort of a closet gamer…lol.

  4. What time period do you wish you lived in? Without a doubt, the early 1900’s to the 1930’s. Why? The way of life was just simpler, or so it seems to me. What appeals to you about this era? What appeals to me most was the fashion styles. In fact, I pulled from this era when I wrote Stepping Stone. I modeled the theme of the charity ball to be early 1900’s French Cabaret. Researching the dress styles for this time period was great! Then of course, was the introduction to swing dancing in the 1920’s. My grandmother taught me a few basic steps, but people in general just don’t dance like that anymore. I wish they did – it’s so much fun.

  5. How long have you been writing? I began writing Heart of Stone in 2013, although it took me a while to get it right and I didn’t publish it until December of 2015.

  6. Where do you get your ideas for your book? I get them from everywhere, and usually at the most random times. Sometimes a song lyric or a line in a television show will spark an idea for a chapter. Other times, it could be something as simple as seeing a beautiful sunset.

  7. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite? Why? I’ve published two books – Heart of Stone and Stepping Stone. My favorite was Stepping Stone because I didn’t have to spend as much time on character development and was able to just write the story I wanted to tell.

  8. What do you think makes a great story? For me, it depends on the genre. If I’m reading crime, mystery, or romance, I like the characters to be believable and feel what they are feeling. If I’m reading fantasy or sci-fi, I just want to get lost in another world. But as a whole, any story that keeps me turning the pages is a good one in my opinion.

  9. Which Writer/Authors inspire you? My biggest inspiration is J.K. Rowling because she never gave up. Her strength and perseverance to tell her story is awe-inspiring. For those that don’t know how she came to be where she is today, I urge you to look into her background.

  10. Any tips on how to get through the dreaded Writer’s block? Music usually helps me. Sometimes, I need to just put it down for a day and look at it fresh the next morning.

A little more about Dakota and her story Heart of Stone

Dakota Willink is a contemporary romance writer and editor, and the author of The Stone Series. She is an associate member of Romance Writers of America and a Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards winner.

Dakota has always had a passion for reading and writing. From the time she was an adolescent, she enjoyed curling up with a good paperback, reading genres that ranged from thriller and fantasy, to mystery and romance. She always dreamed of one day writing her own book, but had put her aspirations on hold to focus on her family and a career that would pay the bills. However, her heart continued to be with fictional characters – whether they belonged to a favorite author or if they were just stories that she made up in her own head.

In 2013, Dakota gathered enough courage to turn her dreams into a reality. In between playing chauffeur to two very busy children and working her job during the day, Dakota began to put words on paper. Eventually, she began to describe her life as a book. Everything she saw or heard throughout the day, intertwined with her imagination for the creation of future writings. By 2014, with the support of her husband and two children, she gave up the security of a steady paycheck and began working on her first novel full time.

Her first novel, Heart of Stone, was published in December of 2015. Less than a year after its release, the Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards recognized Heart of Stone as the 2016 Bronze Medalist in the romance category.

Dakota resides in the Western New York area, where she enjoys spending time with family, her two Labrador Retrievers, and her spoiled rotten cat. During the summer months, she can often be found soaking up the sun on the Great Lakes with her family.

Krystina Cole was a girl on a mission. She had big dreams and aspirations, none of which included a man by her side. She knew better than that – at least until she met Alexander Stone, the New York billionaire real estate tycoon. She saw the way that he looked at her, and the dark promises in his eyes. She was curious about his world and all that it entailed. But the shadows of her past haunted her, making her afraid to explore possibilities that she could never before have imagined…

Alexander Stone was a man who knew how to get what he wanted. He understood the value of finesse, and the importance of patience and diligence to achieve the desired result. He was successful and wealthy, relying on his naturally sharp instincts to guide him through life. But a chance run in with Krystina Cole quickly turned his world upside down. Her quick wit and firecracker attitude was the complete opposite of what he wanted in a woman, and his instincts failed him at every turn…

However, both Krystina and Alexander are clinging to the secrets in their past, and neither of them are willing to compromise. Krystina’s hardened heart makes emotional surrender a hard limit. But for Alexander, revealing his past could have devastating results.

Ashton Blackthorne

Mr. Blackthorne and his “Broken” Past leaves us one great read! I swore many time while reading Ashton was Harvey from Suits and Amber just happened to be Donna. I just happen to have a thing for a tortured soul. Ashton Blackthorne’s soul is more tortured than one could imagine. Did I mention he’s a Dom? No?! Well shame on me because Dom he is, with a dungeon and all the trimmings. We’ve all learned through books and or live that childhood experiences do truly impact us as adults one way or another. So, grab this read and sit back for an hour and read this amazing tale!

  1. Do you slip secrets about you or your past into your books? Of course! The Insatiable trilogy is my autobiography. Everything you read happened to me in one form or another. Obviously, I’ve changed names and specific places to protect privacy.

  2. What would you wish for if you found a genie?  I’d wish for more wishes…lol. Too many for just one!

  3. When you are bored, what would you most likely find yourself doing? In my dungeon with a beautiful sub and a bottle of Macallan

  4. What time period do you wish you lived in? Why? What appeals to you about this era? Hmmmm….that’s a great question. If I didn’t live in the present era, I think I would like to live in the 1910s during the height of Storyville, New Orleans’ red light district. Seems like it was a smashing good time!

  5. How long have you been writing? I’ve been writing on and off in one form or another since I was a kid.

  6. In Broken the same character has your name is he supposed to, be you?  YES! The MC in Broken is me!

  7. Why did you leave Broken with a cliffhanger? Do you plan to do all your books that way? Because I love to leave people wanting more. I tried to leave off without a cliffhanger. Sorry, ladies, I can’t do it. But in book 3 I have added an extended epilogue for those who can’t wait to know what happens next.

  8. If anyone has read Broken I’m sure there with me and want to know. Amber or Veronica? That’s a tough question. Since I don’t like spoilers, I’m going to have to say you’ll just have to wait and see! I will give you this: Amber will play a much more predominant role in subsequent books (i.e., in book one of my new series, the Dark series)

  9. In Broken, Ashton is a Dom. Will we get more BDSM scene in book two, Shattered? Yes, in subsequent books, you will get to see more of my dom side. In the book I’m currently writing which is book One of my new series, I’m much more dominant and the sex scenes will be even hotter!

  10. Besides shock value, why start off with the elevator scene? Why not????

I have a reputation. Bad Boy, Alpha Male, Ruthless Businessman.

I may have lost her years ago, but this time will be different.

***Shattered is a Bad Boy romance with a HFN ending with NO cheating! It is the second book in the Insatiable trilogy.***

For fans of Willow Winters, Jackson Kane, and Olivia Chase

He was mad for me. It was all over his face as he held me in his arms.

Ash Blackthorne was every inch the alpha male.

Ash Blackthorne, the cocky, self-assured shark from Manhattan was the love of my life. He was hot, sexy, and in my bed.

After all these years, he’d never been far from my mind. He had made me his official submissive, and I had accepted him as my one and only dominant. Ash had awakened desires in me I never knew I had. After my strict, religious upbringing, I never thought I would be able to be so sexually adventurous. Ash fulfilled a need in me that I’d had my whole life.
The need to be challenged, desired, and most of all, dominated by a powerful, sexy man.

When we broke up ten years ago, I was devastated. I vowed then and there that I would do anything to have him again.

And so, here we were.

Ash was with me his black leather riding crop in his hand. He was standing over me. I was ready and waiting for him.
I closed my eyes, breathless and wet with anticipation, waiting for him to correct me.
As he brought the crop down, I felt him driving his essence deeper and deeper into me. I was officially his again.

And he was mine.

But as I gazed into his penetrating hazel eyes, I knew that my ability to hold onto him was tenuous at best. There were things about me Ash didn’t know.

Terrible things.

Things that would likely drive an impenetrable wedge between us plunging a hole into our universe that would take him away from me forever.

I just couldn’t tell him.
