Fallon POV

I must have dosed off because I hear Nick say, “What are you doing out here with the critters?”

Looking up, I see Nick staring down at me. “Um, turkey’s in the fryer, and I didn’t want to leave it.”

“Yeah, but it’s the middle of November, and you’re laying your ass in the grass.”

“Hey, it’s peaceful out here or well, it was.”

Nick nudges my shoulder with his foot. “Get up. What are you lamenting about, getting a year older this weekend?”

“Why do I need to get up? Geez, is my birthday this weekend? I actually forgot with all the craziness that has gone on.”

“Yeah, you’re gonna be twenty-four. My little baby is growing up.”

“Nick, I’ve been grown up for awhile, taking care of all of you crazy boys.”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah. So whatcha gonna do with all that money? Wanna invest in your brothers’ business?”

“I’m gonna build my house that I’ve been thinking about. Justin is helping me draw up blueprints then we plan to start this spring. I want it all done before Dad gets out.”

“Wait, why is Justin helping you draw the blueprints when Joe Jr and I are the architects? Why didn’t you come to us? I’d have a crew on it in a heartbeat. It’s what we do. You don’t think we’d do it for you?”

“That’s not it, Nick. It’s just I know you are both busy. Joe Jr is planning a wedding and has a baby on the way. You are running the business. Other than working for you and helping around here, Justin has more time to help. Justin and I fit in time when we are both free. Which as you know, there isn’t much of right now.”

“Still, family’s family. We make the time. We’re here this weekend. Show us what you got. I hadn’t really gotten you anything for your birthday anyhow, so happy birthday.”

“This weekend is about Thanksgiving and decorating for Christmas. I’m not pulling out plans that won’t be happening for another couple of months. Let’s just enjoy Joe Jr and Amanda Jayne.”

“Shut up, it’s your birthday. Sunday is your birthday. Not Joe Jr, not the bun in the oven, just you.”

“Um…” I look up at Nick and know he knows something is wrong. “How did you know before we even know for sure?”

Nick looks at me with a blank stare, his blood pressure rising and his eye just twitched. Ah hell, this is not gonna be good. Standing up, I look at him.

“Are you trying to tell me….” He looks at the ground, and his breathing gets heavy before looking back to me. “When the hell did this happen?”

“Um. I need to go.” Then the timer goes off on the turkey. SHIT! Turning toward the turkey, I pull it out to check it.

“Nick, it happened this morning. Um, can we stop this talk and not tell anyone else please?” I sigh in defeat. “I need to get this turkey inside so everyone can eat.”

Nick laughs. “One shot wonder. For your sake, let’s hope he’s shooting blanks.”

“Justin and I have already talked about it. If I am, we will deal with it. If I’m not, then thank heavens. However, I just want to enjoy dinner and not think about the possibility of a baby. Okay?” I know I’m on the verge of tears when I look up at him from the fryer.

Nick looks at me, grabbing the turkey. “Come, turkey. Let’s eat. We shall feed on the flesh of this bird.”

I follow along behind him. As we walk inside, Justin is the kitchen washing his hands. Nick just looks from me to Justin. Please God, don’t let him say anything or I am locking myself in the bedroom and not coming out till this weekend is over.

“We feast.”

“Well then, get out so I can get that bird taken care of. Go on, go tell the others to have a seat.”

Nick sets the bird on the counter and goes out toward the living room.

“What the hell was that about?”

Without looking at Justin, I say, “You don’t even want to know.” Then I whisper to myself, “I just want this night over with.”

“Ah, darlin’. We still got one more guest coming,” Justin says and the knife slices through my hand.

“Shit. Ouch. Damnit!” Justin grabs me and moves me to the sink to let the water run down my hand. Everyone comes running into the kitchen. “Justin. Stop! That hurts. Damnit. Ouch. Would you get it away from me?”

“You just sliced your damn hand open. Stop being a baby. It’s gonna need stitches. We need to go to the ER. Dinner’s gonna have to wait, at least for you and me.”

“I am not going to the hospital. I have butterfly stitches in the medicine cabinet. That will do till dinner is over,” I huff and hear my family behind me chuckling. “You all can shut up too.”

“This is deeper than butterflies. It’s just gonna keep bleeding. Which by the way, is going to hurt like hell.”

“Justin, do you really want to fight me on this too?” I sass, putting my right hand on my hip.

“He might fight, but we won’t,” I hear Joe Jr say as I’m being lifted into the air.

“Put the critters out,” Nick says. “We’ll take her over to the Urgent Care, and that shouldn’t take too long.”

Next thing I know I’m being tossed into Justin’s Ford truck with Nick sitting beside me. They’ve got me penned in. This is gonna be a longer night than I thought…

Justin POV

GETTING FALLON IN THE TUB IS SIMPLE. Seeing the bruises on her tears me up and pisses me off, but I have to play the happy boyfriend. She is stressed enough and doesn’t need any more craziness from me. She really put a hurting on her Dad’s old Chevy, that’s for sure. Pete won’t be driving anything for quite some time, Nick had a good idea in that. She needed to work through her unresolved issues. I lay with her in the tub and stroke her hair, and she settles down against me.

It doesn’t take long before her breathing drops, and she’s asleep in my arms. We sit like this for a while, I don’t want to try and move her, she is too peaceful, but eventually I start to cramp up, so it’s time to get out. I let the water out of the tub and inch her up and turn her over, getting her up onto my shoulder so I can manage getting up. I’m glad she’s a sound sleeper. I don’t think she’d like this position at the moment.

I get out of the tub and do my best to dry us off. She stirs a bit but is basically out cold, so I take her to bed and get her situated before climbing in beside her. That’s what wakes her finally.

She lifts up, trying to kiss me and lets out a pained grunt. I smile and reach for her pain pills, take two out of the bottle, and hand her the Pepsi from the night stand. I know she’s in a lot of pain.

“Thank you, but really I just wanted a kiss.”

“And I’ll full on kiss your clitoris after you take these two little pills… Please.” I put them in her hand and unscrew the cap on the Pepsi.

“That’s not what I meant.” She grins like the Cheshire Cat, looking at the pills as I stare at her. “I really don’t wanna take these.”

“You’ll sleep better, just take them at night, okay? I won’t push for during the day, I know they make your head foggy.” I kiss her neck, letting my tongue ring leave a cold metal trail.

“Can’t I just take a Tylenol?”

I stare at her, my fingers strumming on her exposed inner thigh, the bottle still in my other hand. I lift the bottle and give it a playful shake.

“Fine, you aren’t gonna leave me alone till I take the damn things,” she pouts, but she takes the pills and the Pepsi.

“Thank you,” I say in a relieved tone. I don’t want her in pain, I don’t like to see it on anyone, but especially her and I know how she is about pills and doctors. This is the girl who tried to walk off a concussion. I love her, but she’s a walking catastrophe. I just want to bundle her in flame retardant bubble wrap every time she leaves the house without me.

“Yeah, Yeah…” She looks around, “We need to switch.”

“What’s that?” I ask, taking the drink from her.

“Switch sides of the bed. I can’t lay on this side, not right now.”

“Oh, okay, I think I can arrange for you to wind up over here,” I smirk as my hands run up her legs.

“You’re gonna hurt me and then feel bad, you know that right?”

“And if I leave you alone? What then, darlin’? You need to relax, and I know what does that to you best.” She lifts her knees and I open her legs. She has such a pretty pussy. I just wanna dive right in, she’s clean shaven as always and I love the way she folds, just beautifully. I slide my tongue into her sensitive flesh and she lets out a little moan. My tongue ring lifts and twists, pinging her clit as I swirl around it. She’s so hot and wet. I love it. Love the way she responds to my hands as they work inside her, finding the spot that makes her squirm. It doesn’t take long before she’s tensing up, muscles are clamping down on my fingers, and I’m tasting the sweetest woman in the world. She’s digging her nails into my head and whimpering my name, and I so love to hear it.

I come up her shivering body and she’s holding on to me. “That wasn’t so bad, was it?” I ask, kissing her neck as I roll her on top of me. “And look, the other side of the bed.”

“Smart ass.”

“Extremely, seeing as I’m just a few inches from the sweet spot. Do a shimmy and we’re in business, darlin’.”

“Oh, my God!” She buries her head in my shoulder.

“I can be if you let me.” I do an upward thrust and I’m sure she can feel my cock bump her ass. I give her a kiss, and roll her down off me. “You need your sleep.” As much as I want her, I also know that her side is really messed up and that anything else we do would put her in the hurt locker in the morning. So, as horny as I am, it is gonna have to wait.

She rolls onto her back, looking up at me, her eyes searching. For what, I’m not completely sure. “Did I say something wrong?”

“No, darlin’, never. But you are right and I don’t want to hurt you. Let’s face it, we aren’t exactly kind to that little body of yours. I tend to turn you into a bit of a rag doll.”

“I’m not complaining.”

“Oh, my girl.” I lean down and kiss her again. “I love you. Let’s see how you feel in the morning. Trust me, I’ll be more than able to go then too.” I reach down, grabbing the blankets and pull them up to her chin. Then I settle in beside her, pulling her to me, so I am right up behind her. I’m not used to sleeping on my right side, it’s weird, and I have to be careful of my hands. I’m so afraid to touch her with all the bruises.

Eventually, we figure out that her tits aren’t bruised. Thank God! I wrap my arms around her chest, and she snuggles into me and is asleep in moments. It takes me a little longer but finally darkness claims me too.

Fallon POV

“Hey, have you guys seen Pete and Dena?” I ask finally.

Nick picks up his head from his hot cider; he’s been adding the shine to it and I can see he’s almost ready for bed. Good thing I brought out the food when I did.

“Uh, they went to feed the chickens.” He snickers then sips his drink.

“Oh, okay.” I toss on my shoes and head out toward the coops, but when I get there, it’s dark, if they were there, the floods would be lit up. I head into the house and can hear music coming from Pete’s room upstairs. I figure they got bored and decided to hang out, so I just head up.

I knock lightly as I enter and all I see is Pete sailing off the back end of the bed. Dena let’s out a little shriek, pulling the blanket up to her bare chest. My eyes pop, and my heart jumps out of my ribs. She’s still got on pants. Thank God!

“What the hell is goin’ on in here?” I can’t keep the mom tone out of my voice.

“I’m sorry, Fallon,” Dena sputters, grabbing her clothes and running past me for the bathroom. I cut her off.

“Unh-uh. Nope. Sit your ass right there. Just get dressed, ain’t nothin’ I ain’t seen.” Pete lifts his head up from behind the bed, he’s got tears in his eyes.

“Momma Fal?”

“Don’t you ‘Momma Fal’ me, boy. I may not be able to control what you do outside this house, but I’ll be damned if you’re gonna do any of it under my roof.” I stomp my foot, driving it home. “And you, young lady, I take you into my house, into my business, and this is how you repay me?” I look her up and down. She’s crying pretty hard.

“I’m really sorry,” she manages again without looking up. “Please don’t tell my parents.”

“Oh, I should, but I think you should be the one to tell them why you’re not working for me or why you’re not seeing Pete anymore.”

They look at me and I can tell Pete is about to explode.

“Say a word to me and I’ll have a cop here in no time flat. She’s eighteen, kiddos. Your pecker in her mouth… that’s molestation in this state.”

He swallows hard as Dena stands up. “I should go.”

“You should. I’ll mail you your last check. Don’t bother coming by the shop anymore.”

She nods, sniffling as I let her pass me by.

“You,” I say to Pete, “I don’t even want to look at you right now, clean your ass up. Come back downstairs and be with your actual family. It’s fucking Christmas.”

I storm out and find Nick at the front door about to go out it.

“Hey, I just saw Dena, she looked like she was crying. What happened?”

I let out a short laugh. “I just caught her upstairs with Pete.”

“She was sucking his cock!”

Nick let out a laugh, “Well, good for him. At least someone is getting some play for Christmas.”

I smack his arm. “It’s not funny, it’s disgusting, he’s only sixteen. What if they fuck around and she gets knocked up?”

“If she gets knocked up from swallowing then we’re all screwed.” He hip-bumps me.

“Eww. That’s horrible. It’s just… In this house, where we sleep. I can’t…”

“Fal, you got knocked up in this house. If it’s okay for you, why not him? Would you rather he be in the back of that Chevy someplace and get arrested for indecent exposure?”

My head is running a mile a minute, there’s already at least three new additions coming into this family. Pete’s just a kid, he’s not thinking with his brain. I look, hearing movement, to see Amanda Jayne, she must be headed for the bathroom. I toss up my hands. “That, right there. We don’t need more of it right now.”

“You’re maybe taking this over the top. It was just a blowjob, Fal.”

“And you know what that leads to?”

“Brushing your teeth.” Nick full on belly laughs.

Nick POV

I arrive to find Pete watching TV and munching on the largest piece of pizza I’ve ever seen; I mean it’s folded in half and still Pete needs two hands to eat the thing.

“You all alone?” I ask, looking around. The place is unusually quiet.

He nods, stuffing his face with a laugh and a grin. He wipes the cheese from his chin and through a mouthful, answers, “They went to see Justin’s parents, no idea where Blaine is, though.”

I nod. “I got him covered.”

“Bet ya do.” He snickers, slurping from his bottle of Pepsi.

“Don’t drop any of that on the rug.” I wave him off as I head down the hall toward my room. A quick shower, shave, and I’m in a clean dark plum dress shirt with black slacks. I grab my long black wool coat and head back downstairs to check on Pete.

“Hey, kiddo, you gonna be alright by yourself for a bit?”

“No problem, was just gonna call Dena, maybe watch a bit more TV, then go to bed.”

“Alright. Well, don’t go anywhere, remember, you don’t have a key to get back in.”

“Got it. Nick?”

“Have fun, you deserve it.”

I nearly tear up as I go over to him and hug the little rascal. “Thanks, Pete.” I kiss his head and I’m out the door.

I walk the two blocks to grab the E train, then it’s a quick shot to the West 4 station and another six-minute walk to the Mermaid Oyster Bar.

It’s not what I expect. I thought he was gonna have me going to some high-strung Greenwich Village restaurant. This place seems pretty laid back, glass windows, a pale blue and white awning out front with a big chalk sign boasting the catch of the day. Oysters, of course. Once inside, I find barstools at the counter and a mirror on the wall with the daily specials written on them. It’s pretty packed, though, so I wait for the hostess as it says to wait for seating. A tall, willowy blonde young man comes sashaying over with a huge smile as he looks me over.

“What can I do for you, honey?” he asks sweetly.

That’s when it occurs to me that I don’t know Blaine’s last name. I let him fuck me six ways from Sunday, but never took the time to catch a last name. What the hell is wrong with me? I laugh nervously. I’m early and don’t see Blaine anywhere.

“Um, I’m a little early and don’t know the last name of the person the reservation is under…”

“Well, what’s the first name, sweetie?”

“Hmm, could it be Chauncey?”

“Probably? I just don’t know for sure.” I smile.

“Well, I’ve got a few empty seats at the bar, do you want to start with a drink and wait for him?’

“Could I?”

“Oh, of course, sweetie, we’re nothing if not accommodating here at the Mermaid.” He takes my hand and leads me over to the bar. “My name’s Kyle. If you need anything, you let me or Francis, the bartender, know.”

I was well into my second Dark and Stormy, which is dark rum and ginger beer mixed when I hear him whisper my name, sending an electric bolt straight to my cock.

“Nicholas Hopkins…” His hand wraps into my thigh with a firm squeeze as he kisses my cheek. He smells of rose and woods again, and it drives me nuts.

“What is that you’re wearing?” I groan as he palms my face.

“Tom Ford, Tobacco Oud Fleur.” He smiles, seeing the rise he is getting out of me already. “Hmm, later.” He pats my cock down, pushing another groan from my parted lips as he pecks them. “I’m starving.”
